Hand Made Picture Frames
We’ve all seen these new picture frames that have fabric coverings and bling, nice quotes, bows, etc. They’re so cute and some are really expensive! I sat in my scrap room the other night and pondered how I could make one of these frames – I own a few but how neat to be able to make one the way you want – WHEN you want it!Â
All I used for this was 2 sheets of 12×12 chipboard cut down to 11×11 to accomodate my paper and a sheet of acetate for the picture cover (instead of glass). I cut a 5×7 rectangle out of the first sheet of chipboard and then covered it with my choice of paper. I cut another 5×7 out on the second sheet of chipboard, but only on three sides of the 5×7, leaving one side attached to act as a hinge for changing out the picture – and then I covered the back. Once the acetate was cut and glued into place on the first sheet, I glued the two sheets together and adorned my frame like I wanted. Oh! I wrapped the ribbon around the top of the first sheet before gluing them together though. The bow was tied later.Â
This was a fun project too. Time consuming at first because I was just winging it – but the second one came along a lot faster. Matt uses it at his station at work.Â
